Become a Member
It is very simple to join lugj. Since we are an organization believing in spreading the word about GNU/Linux and freedom, so we do not make any discretion what so ever for anyone willing to join us.
Why
If you have come so far on our wiki then we think you have our motive and intentions very clear in your mind. But still here are a few reasons why you should join us.
- Knowledge , which is the most precious thing. Share it as well.
- Experience sharing platform.
- Free DVD/CDs of popular open source GNU/Linux distribution
- Rewards are always their for good work. E.g. Certificates etc.
- Add a cool quotient to your personality with our LUG-J T-shirts.
- Consultancy if you have any doubts with your problems. It’s all free. But contributions are always welcome.
- Recognition to the world wide LUG community.
How
- Introduce yourself to the group via the mailing list.
- Show yourself up during one of our meetup, which will be posted on mailing lists.
- Also come to the IRC channel(once in a while at least).
- Contribute your knowledge, experiences about GNU/Linux with other members.
- Try to take up some non for profit tasks , LUG Jaipur needs volunteers in.
- Add yourself to Member_List

Mailing List
- A mailing list is a way of sharing your knowledge, queries, ideas etc. relating to certain basic concept/topic. This not only benefits the one who had generated the query, but also others on the list facing similar situations (in future).
- It is also a way to stay updated with what all activities are organized by lugj and it's members.
- You will come to know more about what happens on our mailing list when you join it.
IRC
- LUG-Jaipur's prime place of contact is its IRC channel. Where we discuss things, right from the linux kernel to rock music.
- You can also come and join us on the channel #lug-jaipur.
